In the Sorte Lab, we work across scales – from cells to species’ ranges – to understand the mechanisms underlying community composition and biogeographic patterns. Many projects focus on aspects of global change, including climate change and species invasions. Predicting responses to global change is both a way to test our grasp of fundamental ecological processes and a necessary goal given human impacts on Earth’s systems.
